“I believe the practice of medicine is more than treating the sick. It is developing a relationship with patients and making them a very active part of the team to promote wellness.”

“I believe the practice of medicine is more than treating the sick. It is developing a relationship with patients and making them a very active part of the team to promote wellness.”
Dr. Scott Kolbaba has decades of experience in primary internal medicine with a specialty in preventive medicine and concierge care.
He is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine with highest honors, was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic. He is repeatedly featured in Chicago Magazine as a Top Doctor and recently appeared in the Chicago Tribune as one of the “Top Doctors in the nation”.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Kolbaba is proud of his service in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He is a two-time Amazon best-selling author. His first book explores miraculous experiences in the lives of physicians. His second, a children’s storybook, offers hope to youth struggling with depression. Concerned about the plight of incarcerated young men, he developed an innovative volunteer mentoring program—never before available in the state of Illinois.
The real joy of his life is his family of seven children and thirteen grandchildren, who still gather for the family’s summer vacation, usually in a home with at least 12 bedrooms! His wife, Joan, the love of his life, has put up with his unusual schedule and his never-ending projects.
On a personal note, Dr. Kolbaba loves Newfoundland dogs, growing championship pumpkins, flying giant kites (always the largest on the beach!), French restaurants and Spumoni ice cream.
